A collision has left a 55-year-old man seriously injured after his motorcycle collided with a car at an intersection along Forrest Highway in another horror crash in the South West.

The incident occurred at around 5.50am Thursday morning and when a green Volkswagen Beetle, heading east on Myalup Beach Road, and a blue CFMOTO motorcycle, travelling northbound on Forrest Highway, collided at the intersection of the two roads.

Police have revealed the 55-year-old male motorcycle rider was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries and the 54-year-old male Volkswagen driver remained uninjured.

The highway around the crash site was closed and road users were forced to take detours as emergency services attended the scene.

It comes after a fatal crash in Kojonup resulted in the death of a 56-year-old man who crashed his motorcycle into multiple trees on Tuesday morning.
