Backlot theatre: One-night Australian movie premiere to raise money for Telethon

A red carpet film premiere is set to light up Perth later this month, with every dollar raised going to Telethon.
Telethon has teamed up with Newland Films, The Backlot and Songs and Smiles to deliver the special one-night event, which will showcase Australian movie Remotely Famous.
This event will showcase the yet-to-released Australian film that’s described as both funny and heartfelt.
The film follows two girls who embark on a road trip into the Australian outback hoping to attract a social media following, but when their car breaks down their survival skills are tested.
The venue, film and event services have all been donated, ensuring that 100 per cent of proceeds will help provide vital support to WA children and families. They won’t be taking any overhead costs.
With a $30 donation guests will be able to step onto the red carpet, have their night captured by professional photographers, and enjoy a few surprises along the way.
Event organisers said it’s about more than just a movie screening, providing an opportunity to support a worthy cause.
“This is more than just a film screening, it’s a celebration of what we can achieve together. Your support, no matter the amount, helps make a real difference,” they said.
The fundraiser will be held at The Backlot Perth in West Perth, Saturday 27 September from 6.30 pm.
Tickets and donations are available through the official fundraising link.
