About $40,000 has been raised for the family of Niamh Loader, the young Perth woman who suddenly died in Bali in mysterious circumstances.

Indonesian police are investigating Ms Loader’s death after her body was discovered by hotel staff in her accommodation’s bathroom earlier this month.

Under the orders of Kuta police, Ms Loader’s body was transported to Bali’s Prof Ngoerah Hospital last Wednesday, five days after she is believed to have died on December 2.

Doctors found no obvious signs of trauma.

The University of Western Australia master’s student had initially flown to Bali for dental treatment.

Her father Malcolm Loader told the West Australian earlier this week that his 25-year-old daughter was “very happy” with the procedure.

“She was here to have minor dental treatment and was very happy with the results,” Mr Loader said.

“The police are currently investigating. . . we have no idea (of what caused her death) at this stage.”

Mr Loader and partner Tina Finneran have flown to Bali in search of answers and to repatriate their daughter’s body home.

Amid a global outpouring of grief following Ms Loader’s death, about $40,000 has been raised to help them.

More than 400 people, including many from Ms Loader’s homeland of Ireland, have donated to a GoFundMe campaign established to bring her body back to Australia.

Friend, and fellow contributor at the Spectator magazine, Mark Burgess said Ms Loader was “fit and healthy” before her untimely death.

Her parents began fearing for her safety when she failed to board her flight home, according to Mr Burgess.

Hotel staff told Ms Loader’s parents she had booked an early-morning taxi service to Bali’s international airport but had failed to check out at reception.

Mr Burgess said Ms Loader was then discovered dead in her accommodation’s bathroom.

Ms Loader was studying for a master’s degree in international relations and national security at UWA.

Earlier this year, she was awarded the Kate King Legal Prize at the prestigious university.

Her father said she had an “amazing future ahead of her”.

Subiaco-based Mannkal Economic Education Foundation offered Ms Loader a scholarship to intern in the United States in early 2023.
