Woman accused of drink-driving seven times legal limit after welfare check at Sydney childcare centre

A woman has allegedly blown seven times the legal limit after emergency services were called to a childcare centre in Sydney’s south on Monday. The 43-year-old woman, who declined medical assistance after there were concerns for her welfare, allegedly returned a reading of 0.359 after being breath tested at the centre on Gymea Bay Rd in Gymea about 5.30pm on Monday. Drivers must return a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of lower than 0.05 in Australia. Health authorities say a BAC of more than 0.3 can be life-threatening and result in unconsciousness and severe impairment, including being unable to walk without assistance. The woman was charged with drive with high-range PCA. Her licence was suspended and she was granted conditional bail.She is due to front Sutherland Local Court on November 20.
