The Hamersley Comets have bounced back from their first loss of the season with a 58-45 victory over the Rangers in round seven.

A strong first quarter saw the reigning premiers jump out to an early six-goal lead with the margin swelling to 11 by half time.

Comet’s Madeleine Ash posted a season high 29 goals in the absence of injured shooter Aitaua Enari while Emma Cosh in goal attack sunk 14 from 22 attempts.

Despite trailing by 15-goals the Rangers refused to give up and won the final quarter thanks to the defensive pressure of Ellie Smart and Rebekah Aynsley in the circle.

Souwest Jets have secured their first win of the season with a nine goal win against Peel Lightning infront of a home crowd in Waroona.

A dominant first quarter set the tone for the Jets, the defensive combination of Sydney Rafferty (WD), Claire Pickerill (GD) and Brooke O’Connor (GK) restricting Lightning to just six-goals.

The away team found their feet and won the second quarter 14-13, while they kept within touch for the final half the first quarter deficit proved too big to come back from.

Jets shooter Rylee Hall was unstoppable with 43 goals serviced by captain Brooke Gibson in goal attack.

The Southside Demons have been handed their fifth loss of the season off the back of a 54-46 defeat by the West Coast Warriors.

Warriors Jamaica Jauncey and Demons Meg Gallager both finished with 35 goals goals, the difference coming from Warriors captain and goal attack Hana Stokes who sunk 19 to give her team the edge.
