Western United will hope Noah Botic has avoided injury as the star striker looms as the man capable of leading John Aloisi's charges to an A-League Men fairytale.

Socceroos hopeful Botic, who appears destined to move overseas at season's end, scored a wonderful hat-trick to deliver Western a stirring 3-2 elimination final win over Adelaide United on Friday.

He was iced up post-game but remained cautiously confident he would be fit to face Melbourne City in the first leg of their semi-final at AAMI Park next Friday night.

"Hopefully, fingers crossed, god willing, it should be right," Botic said.

"Just did a couple tests. It's just a little bit of awareness in my quad, but we'll kind of test it out throughout the week and see how it goes. And I'm sure everything will be alright."

Aloisi played down any concerns over Botic's fitness.

"I didn't take him off because I thought that he was injured. I took him off just to make sure that he rests up and he's ready to go," Aloisi said.

"He might have just got a knock or something like that because I didn't know about it.

"So I'm positive that he'll be fine to go. It will have to take a lot to take Noah out of the next game."

It was United's first ever finals win at Ironbark Fields, and given they will play at either AAMI Park or Auckland's Go Media Stadium for the rest of the season, it may have been Botic's last game there.

The 23-year-old is a free agent at season's end and was tight-lipped on his future.

"Not going to say too much, but if it was, it's been a pleasure playing here, especially in front of these fans," Botic said.

"But it's a tough decision, I've been talking about with my family and my agent for the past couple months, and obviously the conversation is going to come up, but I can't say too much.

"But I'm just focused fully on the rest of this season and to go and lift that trophy."

Botic had a four-game scoring drought late in the season before netting against Auckland in the final round, then roaring into form on Friday night.

It's the type of golden form that can inspire a team.

"We had that with Aleks Prijovic when we won the championship," Aloisi said.

"That gives everyone a lift."

United have lost twice to City this season but are adamant they can turn the tide.

"Yes, they have had the number on us," Aloisi said.

"But that doesn't mean anything when you come to finals."

Botic added: "We've got heaps of confidence going into that game, especially off the back of three wins here, and obviously against good teams as well.

"So it doesn't scare us, who we come up against."
