Free farmer forum to discuss feed base, climate and the next generation

WA dairy farmers are being urged to have their say and virtually join their national lobby group’s annual general meeting and an in-depth chat about feed, climate and nurturing the next generation. Dairy Australia plans to hold a free forum along with its annual general meeting at Moama in New South Wales on November 28, with the full-day event also available online. The forum features sessions throughout the afternoon and evening, including a panel discussion on how dairy farmers have adapted their feedbase and risk management strategies to be more resilient in a changing climate. Dairy farmers from the Murray region including Jacob Gardiner, Northern Victoria, Deanne Hore, Leitchville, and Dustin Kemp, Lockington, will share their experiences. Investing in the next generation of farmers will be the focus over dinner with a panel of young farmers from Kiewa Valley, Katandra West, Rochester, and Tatura set to discuss their involvement in a recent leadership development program.
