It’s the biggest, most powerful combine harvester on the market and outside of the US it’s yet to be seen — until now.

Dowerin can boast the first international viewing of the new S-series combine harvesters as John Deere fronts up to the field days with an S690.

John Deere WA territory manager Preston Grigg said it was a real boon for WA to have the first Australian viewing of the machine.

“The release hasn’t been finished in the US, ” he said.

“This is the first time John Deere has ever allowed product out of the US, either during or just prior to a release being held.

“It’s the largest, most powerful combine harvester in the world and it’s certainly the largest combine harvester John Deere has ever produced.”

The S690 delivers 543 horsepower at rated speed and 617 horsepower at peak power and features a large cleaning chute, with up to 15 per cent increases in cleaning capacity.

It offers additional threshing capability thanks to the Active Tailing System and has a new cab with an additional 27 cubic feet of apace compared to the previous 70 series.

“The exciting part is we’ll have three units available in WA to be demonstrated during the harvest season,” Mr Grigg said.

“The one from Dowerin will be harvesting in the northern part of the State, probably starting in Geraldton in late October or early November, depending on seasonal conditions.”
