Geronimo self-propelled auger a winner
In just the first year of setting up its WA base, Geronimo Farm Equipment has picked up the prestigious Best New Release for Self-propelled Machinery at the Dowerin field days.
Sponsored by Countryman, Geronimo picked up the award for the new Brandt 850 self-propelled auger.
On display at Dowerin was the company’s 50-foot auger, with a self-propelled attachment that allows ease of operation.
A tandem wheel setup makes the machine strong and durable, while hydraulic motors in those wheels and a steering component make the auger easy to move. Hydraulic winches lower and raise the auger at the push of a button.
As Geronimo sales manager David Fagan explained, anyone could use the machine.
“You can simply march along the road with it and it will go along at a fast walk, ” he said.
“If you had a bank of silos that were 200m away from the other ones you could just march it up there.
“But you can also just raise it up and drive it over to your ute and pin it and lift it all up and drive it to where you want to go.”
The company, which is based in Northam, had sold two augers at the field days by midday Thursday, with a steady stream of growers pausing to check out the machine.
