Sacha Baron Cohen appeared downcast as he stepped out in the US on Thursday—the first time the Borat star has been seen since the announcement of his split with wife Isla Fisher.

The 52-year-old was seen sporting a solemn expression as he walked down a street in the Big Apple wearing a cosy, casual outfit.

The UK actor wore a green jumper, grey jeans and Nike sneakers paired with a fancy fedora and glasses.

The sighting of Baron Cohen comes after Fisher announced the break-up from her long-time husband last week after 14 years of marriage.

“After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down. In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage,” a statement on Fisher’s Instagram said.

“We have always prioritised our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change. We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.”

The announcement came just days after actress Rebel Wilson had accused Baron Cohen of harassment, which he denies.

It has since been claimed that Wilson’s allegations against Baron Cohen were the catalyst for the shock divorce.

The Pitch Perfect star exposed her experience with the “a..hole” comedian in her memoir, Rebel Rising—which is yet to be released in Australia—claiming Baron Cohen told her to strip off when filming scenes for the 2016 comedy The Brothers Grimsby.

A source has told The Sun that Fisher was “starting to get embarrassed” about the claims in the book.

Another source close to the couple added that the “decision wasn’t taken lightly” and there is “still a lot of love” between the former couple, who “remain incredibly close”.

The notoriously private pair share three children, two daughters, Olive, 16, and Elula, 13, and a son, Montgomery, eight.
