ADCA 2025-26: Manypeaks skipper Stanton boosted by import Alby Berridge and South Perth standout Thomas Leaver

Manypeaks will be hoping English wicketkeeper-batsman Alby Berridge will make an instant impression when they start their Albany and Districts Cricket Association season against Royals on Saturday. Berridge arrived in WA on October 7 and has spent two weeks getting acclimatised with new skipper Seb Stanton calling the shots. Although he will be without all-rounder Ben Southern, Stanton was boosted by Paul Donaldson committing to another season. The signing of Thomas Leaver, a top-order batsman from South Perth, who moved to the area last year is another welcome addition to the squad. “If we can get a consistent year of availability out of Paul, that would be awesome,” Stanton said. “Basically, he can do it all. “Thomas is a top batsman and bowler who has great experience. “It’s my first year as captain but the succession plan has been in place for a couple of years, and I was more than happy to do it. “I will be leaning on Thomas – he will be my skipper. “He has heaps of knowledge and is someone I can bounce ideas off.” Peaks finished fourth of five teams last season, missing out on a finals campaign after five wins and 11 losses. They will be hoping for more development from Cameron Walsh, who led their wicket taking last season, and exciting all-rounder Oliver Douglas. Stanton is hoping they can make some progress and reach the end-of-season showpiece matches. “We will have to field a consistent team to do it, but I’m really exciting and looking forward to getting started,” he said. They will have their work cut out in their opener against Royals. “Ryley Valli is always a big wicket to get and when Matthew France opens the bowling it’s hard work,” Stanton said.
