Clarkson attack: Woman, 35, charged over knifing man on Lithgow Drive, cops probe three stabbings in one day

A woman has been charged with knifing a man during a fight in Perth’s north as police investigate three stabbings in a single day. Police allege that a 35-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man were walking on Lithgow Drive in Clarkson when a heated argument started between them about 6.30pm on Wednesday. The woman allegedly pulled out a knife before stabbing the man during the altercation. Police said the pair were known to each other. The man was taken to Royal Perth Hospital by St John WA with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Joondalup detectives have charged the woman with unlawful wounding in circumstances of aggravation. She is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday. It comes as police responded to two separate stabbing attacks on Wednesday, including the suspected domestic violence murder of a woman in Bassendean. The woman, aged in her 30s, died at Royal Perth Hospital after she was stabbed at the property on Reid Street, Bassendean, about 12.30pm on Wednesday. A man known to her is assisting police. In Willeton, a 76-year-old man allegedly stabbed his 81-year-old female neighbour in her driveway on Ringarooma Way about 1.30pm on Wednesday. The elderly man was found nearby and taken into custody before being charged with intent to harm, did an act causing bodily harm. He will face court Armadale Magistrates Court on Thursday.
