Complex late-night rescue mission after man falls 3.6m into Scarborough’s ‘Snake Pit’ skate park

A complex rescue mission unfolded overnight after a man fell into Scarborough’s concrete skate park.
The man, aged in his 30s, fell into the bowl, nicknamed The Snake Pit, at its deepest point of about 3.6m just after midnight on Monday.
Emergency crews from St John Ambulance, WA Police and DFES were on the scene, with paramedics securing the man to a spinal board.
Rescuers then set up a rope and pulley system to lift the man out of the bowl before he was taken to Royal Perth Hospital.
It is understood the man needed treatment for an ankle injury.
