West Coast Eagles lock in premiership forward Jamie Cripps on one-year extension

It took longer than expected, but West Coast premiership forward Jamie Cripps has officially signed a one-year extension to stay at the Eagles next season.
The West Australian reported in August, Cripps would sign a one-year deal along with Tom Cole and while the latter re-signed in September Cripps’ deal was not finalised until Thursday afternoon.
After passing the 250 game mark in round 18 this season head of list management and recruiting Matt Clarke said he was delighted Cripps will go around again.
“We are really pleased that ‘Crippa’ has signed on for 2026,” he said.
“Jamie has been a great servant of the West Coast Eagles and while his talent is highly valued, the role that he will continue to play developing our next brigade cannot be understated.
“He is still playing and training at a high level and we love what he brings to the locker room.
“He has a great connection with Andrew (McQualter) and is really motivated to support him in his 16th season at AFL level.”
Following the retirements of Dom Sheed and Jeremy McGovern and Liam Ryan’s move to St Kilda, Cripps is one of just four Eagles remaining on their list from their 2018 triumph.
With the loss of captain Oscar Allen, Cripps’ experience and leadership up forward will be invaluable for their next generation while he still has plenty to add off his own boot finishing as the Eagles’ leading goal-kicker this season with 24 majors.
